Trespass America - Glenn Falls Civic Center Glenn Falls, NY 8/12

The Trespass America tour invaded Glens Falls, N.Y. Wednesday evening and it was an night of hot and heavy metal music to please fans of all ages.

God Forbid was first up for me and they were brutal.  The boys from New Jersey rocked the still growing crowd and gave the crowd a reason to pack it in faster.  "Equilibrium" is the new album and it is way beyond the expectations of the fans and they did not spare the set list at all from the wrath of that record.  Don’t Tell Me What to Dream opened the set to a roar from the rabid fans and Overcome as well as the title track blew the fans minds.  If you have yet to buy this album you are sorely missing out.

Emmure was up next.  Lead singer Frank Palmeri and crew brought a little street flavor to their brand of metal. The energy level was high during the entire set.  They bounced from one side of the stage to the other while treating the crowds to hits that included 10 Signs You Should Leave as well as the menacing brutality that is the new record Slave To The Game with Protoman and Insert Coin.

Pop Evil kept the evening going strong.  These guys always put on a good show and although they have a slightly more hard rock sound than the heavy metal surrounding them, lead singer Leigh Kakaty still keep the fans on their feet with hits such as Hero as well as Epitaph, Last Man Standing and Monster You Made from the rabid 2011 CD release War Of Angels.

Orlando based Trivium returned the crowd to the heavy side by rousing the fans with the brutality that is In Waves and Torn between Scylla and Charybdis. They are still touring for what I feel is their best album to date, In Waves, but they revisited their older material with Throes of Perdition and the nasty Caustic Are The Ties That Bind.  This band stay true to their metal roots and they will be around for years.

Killswitch Engage may have been the second to last band, but they gave the G.F. crowd a hell of a show.  With lead singer Jesse Leach back at the helm, the band tore through a mix of classic and newer music.  Rose of Sharyn, No End in Sight, the crushing Fixation On The Darkness and My last Serenade just to name a few.  They are still out for 2009’s S/T record but the material came from the older records which seemed fitting for Jesse’s return to the fold.  I am sure what they come up with for the next record will be mind numbing.  They closed the show with ear burning cover of Dio's "Holy Diver".

Last but far from least was Five Finger Death Punch.  After a short wait Ivan, Zoltan, Jeremy, Jason and Chris gave the crowd what they had been waiting for, one amazing show.  Playing selections from all their albums keep the fans screaming for more.  White Knuckles, Under and Over It, Coming Down and The Bleeding were just a few of the blistering tracks that they shoved on the maniacal crowd.  My personal fav's was radio darling Remember Everything and the cover of Bad Company.  They paid the most attention to the latest album, the sickening American Capitalist, in their set.  If you haven't checked it already, do so!

Trespass America gave the Glens Falls fans a night to remember.  If this tour comes to a town near you.... GO!  They give metal fans of all ages and walks a killer night of music and entertainment.
