Out of Exiles
Godgory - Way Beyond - Metal Mind/ Nuclear Blast
By Ziggy Sawdust
There's an album I used to love, Cemetery's "Godless Beauty"; I no longer own this work and haven't yet found a new copy, but I remember its haunting bleakness and the songs have stuck with me over the years and come out every now and then. When they do, I crave the way the music would go through me and now I have a suitable replacement in this special reissue of Erik & Matte Andersson's (not related, however..) amazing skills at creating true atmosphere. Equally spaced between the more measured black metal as with the likes of "Final Journey", and "Another Day" and the heavier death of "Payback" and "Holy War", it's more of an angrier and slightly less suicidal Cemetery that mixes Matte's growling vocals and clean recitation with Erik's talent on the ivories alongside session musicians just as good. I'd have to say this was one of the more enjoyable releases I've gotten my hands on lately and it definitely stirred old emotions, for which I am grateful.

Kunt and the Gang - I’ll Have Another Wank & I’ll Have Another Cry - Disco Minge Records
By Cody Lee Hardin
Now this album may not be Metal, Hardcore, Punk or even Alternative rock but I believe that this is one of the greatest albums to have come out in the past ten years! Kunt And The Gang are an electro based punk/comedy group from Britain and believe you me this album will keep you in stitches. When I first heard their song "Fucksticks" I thought that this band was going places! But they seem to be more of a cult band. This album is jam packed with perverse, disturbing and demented subjects, hell there is even a song about serial killers "Fred and Rose" as the song is so blatantly titled. Even the most hardcore fans of Heavy Metal and Hardcore Punk should most definitely check this album out, and while you are, I will have another wank and another cry...

Hell Train - Route 666 (Re-Issue) - Metal Mind Productions
By Rob "Bubbs" Harris
The re-issue of this scorching death'n'roll classic from Sweden's Hell Train comes at the perfect time. I had been wondering where all the cool bands went that played really mean rock'n'roll, and behold, this lands on my desk and subsequently rapes my eardrums. Imagine Witchery doing Andrew W.K. covers and that may help to process what awaits on "Route 666". There's not a whole lot of flash in the music on the album, just bare bones rock with a touch of black metal and a splash of pure evil. Booze drinking, ass kicking, and Satan are on the itinerary, so make sure your mother in law is there when you pop this bad boy in the stereo, otherwise it might go to waste. All jokes aside, I can't begin to tell you how gnarlificent this shit is. Originally released back in '04, this barn burner wasn't made easily accessible to everyone who might appreciate it. However, our good pals at Metal Mind, who you can always count on to come up with rad shit, re-issued it for all of our enjoyment. With catchy sing-along choruses and some seriously kick-in-the-balls riffs, this is probably the best pre, during, and post drinking records to listen to since the first two Wretched Ones albums. I dare you to have a few shots of fine whiskey and listen to Hell Train and try not to turn into a fuckin' maniac. It's limited, so grab one up soon. I promise, you won't be disappointed.

Wisdom in Chains - "S/T" (Re-Issue) - MVD
By Rob "Bubbs" Harris
This album from one of Philly's toughest hardcore outfits has been out of print for over five years, and now, through the graces of the gods, it has been made available yet again. Let me ask you a question. Do you dig real hardcore, with that old school punk rock feel? If so, you're going to love this shit. Wisdom in Chains have no regard and zero tolerance, and they're not afraid to jam their opinions right down your throat. The music is just as blunt as well. I suppose you can look at these guys as Philly's answer to Blood For Blood (Boston), as they are very similar in style, but I look at them as another bad-ass band that plays true hardcore, without concerning themselves with pussy fashion woes and dumb haircuts. Also, the only kung-fu dancing you're likely to see at a WIC show is those guys kicking your ass in the back alley before taking your money and drinking it all away. Sounds frightening, doesn't it? Well, it is, and nobody without the balls to handle music like this should'nt fuck with it. This is raw aggression, with no time for posers. Get yourself a case of PBR and put away all the breakable objects within reach, just in case. This one's for the bruisers!
