The Ghostbustour - Northern Lights - Clifton Park, NY 10/10
Pictures and words by Mary Richardson
Even the remnants of Hurricane Nicole couldn't stop the faithful from lining up outside Northern Lights to see their favorite bands. Pouring rain, driving winds be damned there were five bands set to rock, and nothing was stopping this bus. Boston based Vanna was up first and there was a mosh pit going by the middle of the first song. Playing tracks like "Dead Language for a Dying Lady" and "Passerby” amped up the crowd into a frenzy. Check out their new album "Honest Hearts". The Chariot brought by far the most active stage show I've ever seen. The kids started crowd surfing during "Deaf Policeman" and the band members reciprocated by diving multiple times into the crowd. One of the guitarists' proceeded to hang himself upside down from the rafters and play guitar over the drum set. A little later, he dove into the crowd and hung upside down while singing to the crowd via megaphone. All The Chariot band members helped to expedite the stage turnover by breaking down the drum set DURING the last song. Their new album Long Live comes out on November22nd, buy it! Chelsea Grin greeted the sweaty, rowdy crowd with cans of silly string. "Disgrace" showcased the guitarists well synced playing and rocking simultaneously. Eyes Set to Kill rocked it next. Sisters, singers, guitarists Alexia and Anissa Rodiguez brought the eye candy and metalcore to upstate NY and brought it well they did.. They are touring for their newest CD Broken Frames, a must buy. Iwrestledabearonce was last but far from least as they opened to the "Ghostbusters" theme. Krysta Cameron and crew brought down the house with "The Cat's Pajama's" and "Elijah Cash vs. the Godless Savages" to name a few. They have been on the road for half a year touring for their first full length “It’s All Happening” with no signs of slowing down. Overall each band rocked it. Personal favorites were ESTK and Iwrestledabearonce. From the sweaty mosh pit that didn't stop to the screaming along the crowd loved all the bands equally.
