_ The Doors – Mr. Mojo Risin’: The Story Of L.A. Woman – Eagle Vision

By Jeffrey Easton

The Doors epitomized the excesses of rock in the Late 60’s and what better way to go out than the amazing opus L.A. Woman.  It was their best record hands down with the dark tracks Riders On The Storm and Love Her madly anchoring this massive release.  This DVD, Mr. Mojo Rising, gives clarity to the undertaking by interviewing the remaining Doors members as well as showing archival footage of them recording L.A. Woman.  Its clear that through the interviews that the remaining members pine for these salad days of recording L.A. Woman as it brought out the best in what they could do and that there is remorse in Jim pulling the plug on any future endeavors but it did not put a damper on the final outcome.  It was clear with tracks like The WASP and Been Down So Long that they were still at the top and you really have to wonder where they could have gone had it not been for Jim wanting to pursue other outcomes of life.  This is an immense look into what the Doors were made of and it is always desirable to get another look into what The Doors were all about.
