Born Of Osiris – Tomorrow We Die Alive – Sumerian

Conceived by Jeffrey Easton

Deathcore? Metalcore? Fuck no, Born Of Osiris goes far beyond those limited genres.  Sure, Ronnie Canizaro’s vocals are harsh and unrelenting but these guys are stupid talented.  Their insane mix of keyboards and calculated riffs signal something deeper than your typical brash deathcore band.  Lee McKinney delivers stunning riffs and technical solos as Joe Buras’ keyboards lay a texture for the band to lay their bedlam upon.   The songs are thought provoking as Ronnie takes you into his world and makes you feel what he feels.  You can’t escape it, it’s your destiny to enter their world and become what they are.  This band is what the metal/deathcore world wishes it could be.  To many bands with 43 time changes that mean nothing but here we have Born Of Osiris and their master stroke taking the song writing to school.  The brash, hard hitting songs are calmed somewhat by the airy keyboards which are particularly prevalent on Exhilarate, the stand out track on TWDA.  Metal is going to have a face for 2013 and Born Of Osiris is going to be it, recognize.
