Anthrax – Chile On Hell – Megaforce

Holy shit has it really been thirty years since Anthrax turned the world on its ear with their brutal display of thrash? A lot has changed since then and they have replaced a few members but the core of Anthrax is still the same and with the release of Worship Music they have proven they are still a massive threat to be taken seriously. For their anniversary they once again toured the world and decided to document this massive outing by filming their live set in one of the most metal hungry areas of the world, Chile. Anthrax are revered as Gods of Metal here and they ate the set up like rabid wolves tearing into prey. Amongst the tracks are behind the snippets of life on the road, a look back into their history and Anthrax just being Anthrax. The DVD was amazingly shot and included a massive set of old and new and everything a diehard Thrax fan would need to go f’ing crazy. Among The Living kicks off the set in intense fashion and there is no looking back. Their theme for life, Caught In A Mosh, kicks it in to higher gear as I Am The Law dangerously follows suit. By now the fans are bat shit crazy and Anthrax has them in the palm of their hands. Going back to the beginning they turned out NFL as well as the churning A Skeleton In The Closet. Its brilliant that after this long they are bringing out the rare stuff from the early records. Hitting their recently released covers album Anthems they tour out AC/DC’s TNT and turned it into their own but it’s the new studio album, Worship Music, that took center stage to me for this DVD. Tapping that massive album was what they needed to do and they did it well with I’m Alive, Fight Em Til You Can’t and In The End. The new stuff was received just as well as the older material and it proves that Anthrax are still as dangerous as ever. Rounding out this DVD are some insane performances of Madhouse, In My World and the massive Antisocial. Anthrax are not going away anytime soon and if this DVD is any testament, they will be terrorizing this planet for years to come.
