METAL EXILES Top 10 List For 2014

Another year has come and almost thankfully gone and here we are with a mountain of music to sort through and decide what we liked and what we thought was the same old shit. It’s hard to sit here and point to what is better than something else but then you have merits that might outweigh another but you don’t care about that, you are possibly saying “why in the hell do you have THOSE albums on THIS list?” I know I will have detractors that will scream that Opeth and In Flames have fallen off a cliff but you know what, I am not you and I think these albums are genius. The same with Motionless In White and In This Moment. Sorry to have to put this at your feet but these bands are the leaders of their respective schools' and they aren’t going anywhere anytime soon and have released the best albums of their careers this year. I could have gone the route of most metal sites and magazines and have all of these unheard of underground albums because they want to be seen as hip, cool and they know more bands than you. I find that to be a boring route because most of those bands are uninspired with the same riffs and sound like the band that came out the week before. I hope you give these albums a chance even if you don’t like the genres because you might surprise yourself.
