Big Picture Media + Glamour Kills Announce Two FREE Unofficial SXSW 2014 Showcases!

Austin, TX - February 20, 2014 - Returning to Texas for the 7th year in a row, Big Picture Media and Glamour Kills are excited to announce the lineup of this year's two FREE unofficial SXSW showcases. Both showcases will be held in the center of the action on Sixth Street - the first on Wednesday, March 12th at The Thirsty Nickel (325 E. 6th St.) from Noon-4PM and the second on Friday, March 14th at The Blind Pig Rooftop (317 E. 6th St.) from Noon-6PM. Featuring bands from Australia, England, and all over the United States, the showcases are sure to please music fans across genres. Wednesday's Thirsty Nickel Showcase will feature acts including Philly/SoCal buzz band Cheers Elephant and Houston's pride, The Tontons, plus Carbon Tigers from Chicago, Australia's Sydney-based Lime Cordiale, San Antonio household name Hydra Melody, Nashville-based Sol Cat, and The Trash*Pop Icons from San Francisco.

Thursday's Blind Pig Rooftop Showcase will feature NYC buzz bands Lily & The Parlour Tricks and NGHBRS, Hopeless Records' Driver Friendly, and Redbull Records' iTCH. Also taking the stage on Thursday will be two of Nashville's finest,The Lonely Biscuits and Vinyl Thief, as well as Night Riots and Lost In Los Angeles representing LA. Austin's own powerhouse, Quiet Company, will be rounding out the showcase, with their trademark raucous live show sure to keep everyone dancing until the very end. Big Picture Media is also proud to represent additional artists at this year's festival including Printz Board from Hollywood, The Suffers from Houston, Bad Veins from Cincinnati, David & Olivia from Huntington Beach, Seiichi Daimo from New Jersey, Emily Wolfe from Austin, and Mime Game from Kansas City.

Last year's Big Picture Media showcase took place right in the center of it all, on the roof of The Blind Pig where guests sipped margaritas, snapped photos in the official Foxtales photobooth and jammed out for 6 solid hours of incredible performances. This year the lineup is bigger and better than ever, featuring bands who have been heralded in the press this year on Rolling Stone, SPIN, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Vice, NYLON and beyond.
