Slipknot – {sic}nesses: Live At Download – Eagle Vision

By Jeffrey Easton

Many bands have brought a great live show in years past but no one brings the show And engages the audience like Slipknot can, no one.  On this massive DVD, Slipknot engages the fan once again with their powerful delivery and also puts Paul Gray out front and center one more time.  It’s weird, Paul leaves us as Slipknot has hit the true heights of stardom in the music business.  Headlining tours, festivals, massive record sales and the love and respect of massive amounts of fans, what more can a musician want?  But to the DVD at hand, {sic}nesses: Live At Download.  The band was on from the first note and the fans were into it at the same heights, the tension was maddening.  Once the band broke through with 742617000027 and (SIC) the crowd came apart. One of the things I find the most alluring about a Slipknot show is how much they engage the audience.  They reach out to them, drawing the energy in, making them one with the band and of course they slam them back with that massive wall.  The wall of metal did not relent as they tore into Wait And Bleed, Sulfur, the insane Psychosocial and People = Shit.  They gave until they had no more and with Surfacing and Spit It Out they were done.   This DVD is the complete experience, the band was into being filmed, the fans were into it, especially the giving females and of course with the bonuses the band proves they love their fans.  You get the full length film Audible Visions as well as videos for Snuff, the making of Snuff and Sulfur amongst others.  This is the final nail for Paul but we will not forget Paul but we will not forget what he delivered to the fans.
