Ozzy Osbourne – Speak Of The Devil: Live From Irvine Meadows – Eagle Vision

By Jeffrey Easton

1982 was a difficult one for Ozzy as it saw the loss of Randy Rhoads and the dissolution of the Blizzard Of Ozz but Ozzy persevered through it all. Speak Of The Devil finds Ozzy at a crossroads, does he continue the Diary Of Madman tour considering Randy just died or does he pack it in, go home and face the mental consequences?  Ozzy did the right thing by going on with the show and that amazing set was documented very well here with Speak Of the Devil..  Brad Gillis of Night Ranger fame was the savior here and he came on board and executed Randy’s amazing riff creations perfectly while adding his own flair to the tracks.  While plowing through the now legendary tracks showcased here Ozzy was on fire and full of life which I am honestly sure was hard for him but monsters like Over The Mountain, Crazy Train, I Don’t Know and Suicide Solution just exploded off of the stage in a raging inferno.  We know the rest of the story, after all of this the band went their separate ways and Ozzy found another avenue but for this moment in time Randy’s memory was full of life and Ozzy was massively carrying on his friend’s legend.
