Aerosmith/Slash – The Whiskey A Go Go – Los Angeles, CA 4/13

 By Heather Vandemark

Aerosmith made a big announcement today at the Whiskey A GoGo,  they are hitting the road with Slash on their Let Rock Rule tour.  For their big announcement, Aerosmith played a loud and sweaty set of classics to a packed Whiskey and were joined by none other than Slash himself, making the tour announcement complete.

This is Aerosmith’s first time playing back at the Whiskey since 1973 and 150 million albums ago.  There was a long line of press on one side and lucky contest winners on the other side, melting in the heat, waiting to get in.  One of the conversations I heard was a couple of guys discussing how the band would walk on stage with their walkers and canes.  I guarantee you I will be on a walker and cane long before Aerosmith! They still rock the house and Steven Tyler can still hit the high ones.  They played four of our favorites, Draw the Line, Same Old Song, Pink and Walk This Way and then we saw the man in black, Slash, come down the stairs to stage. They played Mama Kin, a little bit of Welcome to the Jungle and Train Kept A Rollin. I saw Aerosmith in the 80s and G n R in the 90s and they perform like no time has passed. I’m so looking forward to seeing the full set on this tour.
